Patients’ Responsibilities:

  • You must abide by all hospital rules and regulation:

    Comply with the No Smoking Policy – The King Fahad Specialist Hospital, in compliance with Royal Directives and consistent with its healthcare leadership role in the community, regards smoking as harmful to health and discourages the practice. Smoking is prohibited throughout the Hospital buildings and all Hospital vehicles and buses.

    Comply with the visitor policy to ensure the rights and comfort of all patients. Be considerate in the control of noise level.
     
  • You must provide your physician with complete information about your health such as:
    Present medical condition
    Previous illnesses
    Previous hospitalization
    Medication or vitamins you are using
    Other information that may be pertinent to your health such as
    family medical history.
     
  • In the event you do not understand what your doctor or other member of your health care team tells you about your diagnosis or treatment, you should ask for further explanation.
     
  • Leave valuables at home and bring only those items necessary during your stay.
     
  • Patients, their families, and their visitors are fully abide by the instructions and regulations of medical facilities.
     
  • You should inform your nurse or physician of any changes in your conditions.
     
  • Keep appointments, be on time for your appointments, and call as soon as possible if you cannot make the appointments.
     
  • You should understand that some patients need more medical care then you, due to their medical condition. Therefore they will be given priority.
     
  • You should follow the instructions of the physician or other members of your health care team. You will be, solely responsible for the consequences due the rejection of treatment or non- compliance with instruction. In the event you have refused treatment you will be required to sign a form prepared to that effect.
     
  • You and your visitors should follow the safety and security instructions and directions issued by the hospital for your safety.
     
  • If your treating physician permits you to go for a walk, you must inform your nurse of your whereabouts for your safety and return to you room when required.
     
  • You, your escort or visitors will be held responsible by the relevant authorities for any damage to the medical equipment in the patient’s room due to carelessness or misuse.
     
  • You will be fully responsible for any violations of the Hospital’s regulation by your escort. In such cases, the escorts order issued by the Hospital Director will be cancelled.
