Neurosurgery
|
Neurosurgery division is an integral part of the Neuroscience center at KFSH-D.
The division employees 4 full time consultants who offer comprehensive neurosurgical
service.
The division is very active in establishing subspecialty programs covering
all neurosurgical subspecialties including: Vascular Surgery, Epilepsy Surgery,
Movement Disorders surgery, Skull-base surgery, Endoscopic Neurosurgery, Spinal
Surgery, neuro-oncology and Pediatric Neurosurgery.
The division is a dynamic place
where further development and advancement is happening all the time. We are keen
to apply the latest technology and adopt up to date techniques in our practice.
Our theater is equipped with highly advanced facilities and the instructions are
going on to open a new state of the art neuro-theatre soon (brain lab suite)
All
neurosurgical subspecialties are running at the moment except the epilepsy and functional
programs which are in the development period.
The department has been recognized
by the Saudi Council for Health Specialty as a training center for Saudi board in
the neurosurgery.
Our theme is team work, and based on this we strongly collaborate
with our colleagues in the other Neuroscience divisions and other departments to
build strong teams aiming to provide high quality service for our patients at a
tertiary level.
