Section of Adult Medical Oncology serves patients with a wide rage of solid tumors and lymphomas.
We have multidisciplinary tumor boards in collaboration with departments of Surgery,
Radiation Oncology, Pathology and Radiology for different types of cancers. We offer
treatment to patients according to the best available evidence for clinical practice
guidelines. We have six clinics per week and is subjected to further expansions.
We have chemotherapy area for delivering of chemotherapy on out patient basis. Furthermore, we have the
nurse clinic, which serves to take care of walk in patients to control their symptoms
or side effects of chemotherapy.
In addition to out patient services, we have the in patient services and currently serving patients
for either diagnosis, Inpatient Chemotherapy and Treatment of Complications.
The Section of Adult Hematology is responsible for the investigation and management of adults with
a variety of hematological malignancies, mostly acute and chronic leukemias, aggressive
lymphomas, myelodysplastic syndromes, multiple myeloma and several non-malignant
hematological disorders such as aplastic anemia, hemoglobinopathies, hemophilia,
etc. There is a set of practices and treatment guidelines are available to manage
patients with Acute Leukemia. Hospital facilities include a Hematology Unit of 10
beds. Patients with hematological malignancies non-malignant hematological
disorders are also followed in outpatient clinics.
