This is a comprehensive Pediatric Oncology Service of excellence that is provided in the Eastern Province.
The KFSH-D Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Department is pre-eminent in the management and care of solid tumors, malignant blood diseases and bone marrow transplants in the near future for malignancies and recurring disease.
The department of Pediatric Hematology / Oncology accepts referred cases from other hospitals, up to 16 years old, for the diagnosis and/or management of a wide variety of malignant diseases. It has a 15-bed in-patient ward and a 12-bed outpatient clinic and daycare area.
- to provide a tertiary care service for Pediatric Hematological malignancies as well as solid tumors in a comprehensive program
- to ensure quality of care using a multidisciplinary approach subspecialty assuring continuous updating and continuous academic activities
- to participate in a program of preventive medicine concerning the malignant disorders
- to facilitate home care services
- to participate in research with the objective of improving the diagnostic tools and developing protocols
Patients Activity
In-patients care:
- Where we admit all kind of solid tumors as well as leukemia and lymphoma patients. We do investigate the patients perform their procedure provide the adequate management as a multidisciplinary approach (chemotherapy – surgery – radiation therapy
– psycho-social and nutritional support) we treat often the complications of the management as In-patient.
Out Patient Care:
- Following patients during their treatment and survival clinic
- Immunization clinics and multidisciplinary clinics
Day Care Chemotherapy Service:

Is a part of outpatient service where patients are taking their chemotherapy during the whole day doing their investigations getting their procedures done and the supportive management provided.
